History
This version of Sonar, who claimed to be Bito Wladon of Modora, was a regular at the Dark Side bar, a hangout for washed-up super villains. He lost his tuning fork gun to Wally Tortolini in a card game, and though he later recovered it, his fortunes did not improve. He was later revealed to have been an imposter, a mere hireling of the real Bito Wladon intended to distract attention away from his employer.

It is not clear whether any other appearances of the original Sonar were actually the imposter, but it is a possibility.
