Bizarro was the perfect imperfect duplicate of Superman.
History
Influenced by the now evil Mister Mxyzptlk, Bizarro realized he wasn't "trying hard enough" in being the imperfect duplicate of Superman and thus destroyed Bizarro World as an adult, mirroring Superman fleeing Krypton as a baby. Now on Earth, Bizarro was rampaging across a department store, realizing that if Superman would save people, he would hurt them, killing an unspecified amount of people in his attempt to be an perfect imperfect duplicate. As Superman confronted him, Bizarro committed suicide via embracing Blue Kryptonite, realizing that if Superman were alive, he would have to be dead.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Weaknesses
- Vulnerability to Kryptonite: All Bizarros are susceptible to the effects of Blue Kryptonite. An imperfect duplicate of Green Kryptonite, Blue Kryptonite robs a Bizarro of its superhuman talents. Prolonged exposure to Blue Kryptonite will ultimately prove fatal to a Bizarro.
- Diminished Intellect: In addition of being dimwitted, Bizarro felt a need to mirror every major action of Superman, resulting in him taking his own life, as Superman was still alive.
- Monstrous Appearance
Notes
- Bizarro No. 1 first appeared in Action Comics #254 by Otto Binder and Al Plastino. The Earth-423 version was introduced in Superman #423 by Alan Moore and Curt Swan.
