Black Arrow was the name given to a bear-porcupine hybrid created by Dr. Moreau.

Black Arrow and Dirus Falconus were the latest creation of Dr. Moreau. Afterwards, he was brought into the forest where he was initiated into Moreau's laws by the older hybrids. Together, they formed the Justifiers of Law to the Anointed.

Brought along with the other Justifiers to England to be showcased, Black Arrow briefly skirmished with police officers before their maker commanded them to find Jack the Ripper to show their worthiness as humanity's best achievement.

Black Arrow and the other Justifiers eventually found the Ripper, who turned out to be Moreau's first creation, an uplifted orangutan. After the Ripper was killed by Dianna, the Justifiers reverted back to their predatory instincts after getting a taste of the Ripper's blood and flesh.

Collected by Moreau so that he could merge them with the flesh of apes (inspired by the Ripper's true identity), the Justifiers rebelled. However, Black Arrow, along with Komodo and Bernardus changed their minds and stood with their maker. A fight broke out that resulted in the deaths of the Justifiers and Moreau.[1]
