- Despite his elaborate replication of pre-Civil-War plantation life, all of Mr. Yesterday's slaves are white. The source of Yesterday's powerful vapor is not explained, but could be some combination of volcanic gases. Yesterday himself is killed in a swordfight with Blackhawk.
