You come into my city? You attack Gotham police? You'd better have a very good explanation!

Blood of the Demon #3 is an issue of the series Blood of the Demon (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 2005. It was published on May 4, 2005.
Synopsis for "Friends and Enemies"
In the Batcave, Batman explains to Alfred the origins of the demon Etrigan, as the he is loose in Gotham City and Batman must learn all he can in order to combat him. Frustrated with the lack of insight from the mystical texts he has been consulting, he calls Zatanna, who helps him locate the monster.
Having tracked the demon down, Batman immediately attacks Etrigan, kicking him in the face and demanding an explanation for his violent behavior as of late. Etrigan traps the Caped Crusader's legs and hurls him away, but he manages to catch himself and rebound, remarking on Etrigan's greatly enhanced strength compared to his own. The two continue to fight it out, with Etrigan finally blasting Batman with his magic hellfire in a fit of rage.
Meanwhile, at Gotham hospital, Sandra Kincaid and other police examine injured officers who had previously been hit with the Demon's hellfire and who now appear to be not only healing, but thriving. Nearby, Randu and Anjeli Singh drive around in pursuit of the demon, and the psychic presence of Jason Blood tells Randu to hurry up because the demon has used his hellfire on Batman.
Batman rebounds from the hellfire, feeling rejuvenated as the police officers did, and delivers a flurry of blows to Etrigan before being knocked away by the Demon. One of Morgaine le Fay's servants witnesses the battle from a distance and reports to her mistress, only to be executed for her trouble. Etrigan continues to struggle with the Caped Crusader and, realizing that he cannot bring himself to kill the hero, flees. Batman gives chase just as Randu and Anjeli catch up to them. Zatanna communicates to Batman telepathically that Etrigan may be too much for him and they should call in the Justice League, but he refuses.
Elsewhere, in Montreal, Quebec, Ruth Sommers, a legal aid, comes home to her apartment after a long day to find an angel, Joshua, who greets her and says he has baked cookies.
Back in Gotham, Batman catches up to Etrigan and swings into him, kicking him in the face and sending him plummeting off a rooftop and into a car which he then promptly hurls upward. The Caped Crusader swings out of the way and down into a construction site that Etrigan follows him into. Worried for Bruce's safety, Zatanna attempts to telepathically call for help and realizes that all of the other heroes are busy around the world and that Batman is completely alone in this fight. Back in the construction site, Etrigan taunts Batman, who commandeers a bulldozer and crashes it into the demon. He restrains the beast with special cables just as Randu and Anjeli catch up to them, and Jason's spirit tells Randu to recite the transformation spell. He does, and Etrigan disappears, with Jason Blood in his place. Batman asks Blood why Etrigan was hostile with him this time, and Blood asks for twenty four hours to track down whoever summoned Etrigan to begin with. Batman allows him twelve hours and promises he will come after Blood at that point. Elsewhere, Morgaine le Fay enters a hospital and offers her healing magic to a hospitalized young man and his family.
