Synopsis for "Anywhere I Hang My Head Is Home!"

Howie Bower witnessed Blue Beetle chasing the Skid Row Slasher until the latter escaped by train. At the Police HQ, the captain ordered Fisher to take up the Slasher murder case.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Murray told Ted that someone had stolen their only sample of an experimental new leukemia cure. Then, as Blue Beetle, Ted visited the homeless Essie Kravitz in an alley and asked her about Howie Bower. The following morning, the police found her dead body after the Skid Row Slasher killed her.

Blue Beetle asked Howie about the Skid Row Slasher but received little help. In his home, the Slasher watched news coverage of his actions and put on his mask again in order to retrieve the leukemia serum. The Slasher held a knife at Howie's throat before Blue Beetle intervened and defeated him. After Blue Beetle unmasked the Slasher, the latter revealed that he was looking for a leukemia cure before he was arrested by Fisher. Then, Blue Beetle asked Howard why he lived on the street and the latter answered that he and others like him had no home and no job.
