Synopsis for "Henchman"

At 7:00 A.M., Ed Buckley woke up on his birthday before preparing for a job interview. On his way to the interview, his colleague Rudy gave him a note with a job offer, although he turned it down before arriving at Kord Industries, but was rejected by Ted, himself, who claimed that they were overstaffed. A disappointed Ed walked out, as he looked at Rudy's note. He went to a cafe and learned where to find Abacus, who Rudy told him about. Ed went to a phone booth and attempted to phone Abacus before an elevator in the booth took him underground where he was reunited with his former colleagues, including Rudy. Then, "Abacus" revealed himself as the Calculator and declared that he would make them rich.

However, he only chose six people, including Andy and Frankie, as well as Ed and Rudy. The Calculator explained Ed's benefits to him, regarding bail and money reaching his family, then threatened to kill him if he betrayed him. Next, the Calculator showed his accomplices the blueprints of their target, which was McCormick Place, and explained his plan to them. Afterwards, Ed phoned his wife and lied about getting the job before going to McCormick Place two hours later.

At McCormick Place, he encountered Ted again, who offered him a job. Then, Ed attempted to abandon his current job moments before the Calculator revealed himself and locked down the building. The Blue Beetle appeared and fought the Calculator and his men. During the fight, Ed betrayed the Calculator and saved Blue Beetle before the hero defeated the villain. After the battle, Ed claimed that he was worried about his wife and child before he was taken to an ambulance. Blue Beetle promised that he would not do much time if any and declared that there would still be a new job waiting for him when he got out.
