Blue Beetle (Volume 6) #9 is an issue of the series Blue Beetle (Volume 6) with a cover date of February, 1987.
Synopsis for "Timepiece!"
Blue Beetle fought and defeated criminals who were harassing an old woman. Afterwards, the woman agreed with G. Gordon Godfrey that he was a bad influence on young criminals and declared her hatred for superheroes. Blue Beetle was suspicious of G. Gordon Godfrey and left in his Bug as the police arrived to arrest the criminals. At Angela Revere's home, her uncle changed into Chronos and froze her in time to stop her from interfering with his plans.
Blue Beetle returned to his fortress and contemplated Godfrey's claims. In Death Valley, Cassandra Sharp was looking for mineral samples before she was buried by a sandstorm. A helicopter descended over her and two men stood over her.
When Ted walked into Melody's office, they watched on WHIZ-TV Ronald Reagan blame recent random rioting and savage outbursts on superheroes and order all superheroes to cease public activities until the crisis had ended. Next, Gwyneth Tate from WHIZ-TV interviewed G. Gordon Godfrey, who claimed that superheroes were a bad influence on children. At Chicago's warehouse district, Chronos killed two men who were unloading from a truck for him. At the metallurgy lab at Kord Industries, Murray, Curt, and others were testing the titanium-vanadium mix alloyed with promethium although something went wrong. Murray revealed that he had to finish the project in two days before Garrison Slate, the founder of S.T.A.R. Labs, would be checking on their project. At Precinct 21, Max and Frank briefly debated about Blue Beetle.
Melody came to Ted's office and told him that Angela had not shown up for work that day or called, so Ted decided to investigate her himself. On Pago Island, Carapax dug until he came upon the doors that kept him from a suit of armor. Ted attempted to get Angie to open her door before she saw her standing as still as a statue from her window and broke in before making her unfrozen. Angie revealed that her uncle was Chronos and that he had forced her to steal from the company. Afterwards, Ted contemplated Reagan's new law and decided that if Chronos wanted to conquer the world, he would break the law and become Blue Beetle again.
