Fans of Batman, I've got some bad news. Deadline has reported that, because of the dual strikes from last year, Warner Bros. has changed the release dates for some of its movies, including the sequel to The Batman. To give it some space from Superman 2025, The Batman: Part II will release in October 2026.
Personally, I'm not surprised by this news. The strikes have affected lots of Hollywood productions, including The Penguin, a TV series that Matt Reeves had been working on. We also have to remember that Reeves is something of a slow writer. He worked on the script for The Batman for 2 years and, after filming wrapped, The Batman spent almost an entire year in post-production. It would have been more surprising had this movie had truly met its original release date.
I'm sure some of you are disappointed and you're entitled to your feelings, but I also want to give Reeves and his crew enough time to make the best movie possible. Hopefully, this movie will be the cinematic experience fans of Batman need and deserve.
Well, that's all I've got for you this time. Now, it's your turn to tell me what do you think about this. Are you disappointed that The Batman: Part II will not meet its original release date or do you think Reeves and his crew need more time to make this movie? This is meant to be a friendly discussion, so please be polite and argue your points in a civilized manner. We are all fans of DC and, hopefully, Batman here. We just see things differently.
So leave a comment below, thanks for your time and stay safe out there!
