Bob Gale is an American screenwriter, producer and film director. He is probably best known for co-writing the science fiction film Back to the Future. Gale is an occasional comic book writer. His first published work as a comic book writer was in 1997 for DC Comics' Batman Chronicles. He also wrote the first storyline of the major crossover Batman: No Man's Land. He worked for Marvel Comics over the title Daredevil and most recently he wrote stories for the character Spider-Man.

Gale was born in University City, Missouri. He attended the University of Southern California where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema.
