Bobo T. Chimpanzee was a highly-intelligent chimpanzee and detective, hence his name - Detective Chimp.

Bobo was serving the patrons in Oblivion Bar around the time the Anti-Life Equation started turning people into the Anti-Living.[1] He later left the bar for Earth sometime later and found his way to Gotham City. There he came across a girl named Amy and Ace the Bat-Hound, who had been left behind as the other Bludhaven orphans left for Poison Ivy's jungle. Introducing himself to them, he stated that he might know a way they can get there safely. He then went looking for the horse he saw earlier and learned its backstory as well as name - Comet. Telling Ace to bring Amy out, he introduced her to the horse and they left together after the dog spotted that the Anti-Living were coming their way. Comet fell while she ran through the horde of undead and Bobo himself was injured. They were soon rescued by Krypto, who killed all the undead and took Bobo to Ivy's jungle along with others.[2]

In Ivy's jungle, he became the leader of a group called the Shadowpact, which rescued survivors across the world. Five years after the outbreak, they were contacted by Swamp Thing while rescuing a group of survivors in Chicago. Swamp Thing stated that he had detected a garden in Australia that was writhing in pain and told John Constantine that he wanted him to accompany so he won't have to kill the humans there. He deputed Red Hood and Ravager to take the survivors to Gotham, while Bobo, Zatanna, Blue Devil, and Ragman went with him. In Australia, the Shadowpact was attacked by the infected Plastic Man, who killed Ragman and Blue Devil.[3]

Swamp Thing saved the Shadowpact members from being swallowed by Plastic Man by creating a giant ball of plants around them. Bobo and Constantine helped Zatanna recover her senses and directed her to drive their infected enemy into hellfire. As they mourned their losses, Bobo stated that they should proceed into the bunker instead of turning back like Blue Devil had suggested earlier. As Constantine told them about the nearby Anti-Living horde Bobo spotted the machine guns of the bunker pointing in their direction and told them to get down. The Penguin invited them in while the Anti-Living were mowed down.[4]

Once inside, Bobo became disgusted upon learning the rich survivors were making the poorer serve them in exchange for shelter. Swamp Thing later started attacking the bunker's guards after learning that they were abusing the Floronic Man to grow food. Constantine teleported the team and Swamp Thing to Gotham Jungle after the Amazos started attacking them and learnt from Cyborg. Bobo stated that the New Gods may know about it and figured out where Mister Miracle was hiding. Constantine then convinced him to help them steal the Mobius Chair from Metron.[4]

Arriving back in Gotham, Bobo, Constantine, and Mister Miracle told them of their plan. The two Shadowpact members agreed with Damian Wayne that they needed something to bait Metron, since he was the fastest being in existence and Constantine revealed that he had stolen Madame Xanadu's crystal ball capable of telling the future, which they could use to bait Metron. The plan ultimately failed, but Metron still allowed them to find the cure using the Mobius Chair, in exchange for him using the crystal ball.[5]
