In the 1930s, Boomerang Jones operated a riverboat in Borneo.
History
In 1938, Boomerang Jones and his partner Mungo were hired by a phony "explorer" to travel a long distance up the Cannibal River, in Borneo. The fake explorer, "Slug," was the boss of a large gang of ex-plantation-workers, turned fugitive kidnappers, fleeing to the interior of Borneo, with one hostage, "Mary," already in tow. That evening, Jones overpowered one of the riflemen, then he and Mungo turned the tables on the kidnap gang. Mary was returned safely home.[1]
