Borovar was a seaport city-state in Eastern Europe.
In the late 1940s, the Communist Party used bribery, forgery, and violence to win a dishonest election, replacing the legitimate government of Borovar, a seaport city-state in Eastern Europe. The deposed mayor, Jon Yandro, sent a note by carrier pigeon to the Blackhawk Squadron, then blew out his own brains.
The Blackhawks arrived shortly later, and the tyrannical new municipal government was toppled, that same day. Then the newly-freed Borovar civilians agreed to set up a makeshift democracy, but said: "We'll do so until a new government can be named by the Council of Free Nations."
- Borovar is in eastern Europe, on a seacoast, and some of the men wear lederhosen.
- In the late 1940s in Borovar, it was commonplace for rural peddlers to drive mule carts, so this was a relatively poor and backward region of Europe.
