Brawl was an enemy of Superman.
History
Brawl was created by Lex Luthor in an attempt to manufacture his own Doomsday. He took a man named Bill who had an inoperable brain tumor, faked his death, and, through unknown means, changed Bill into Brawl. His name derives from the (initially) only word he was able to say.
Seemingly out of nowhere, he fought Superman to a near standstill before Superman stopped holding back and knocked him out cold.[1] Brawl was later seen being held in stasis in the basement of STAR Labs.[2] When the Rudolph Jones (New Earth) drained power from STAR Labs,[3] Brawl escaped and made his way to the suburb of Bridwell Heights. Superman stopped him, but was headed away to deal with another creature. Brawl escaped, and headed through a cul-de-sac towards the house of a woman who was once his wife. When Superman caught up to him, he began to speak. As he was about to reveal what happened to him, Lex Luthor, who was watching via a remote link, terminated Brawl.[4]
