The Bride is a misanthropic homunculus made of various female corpses' body parts with expert-level skills in physical combat and firearms. She spent most of her life evading Eric Frankenstein, who was obsessed with attaining her love, and was eventually recruited into the Creature Commandos as the team leader.
History
Early life
An unforgettable present
In the 19th Century, various female corpses' body parts were collected in the Frankenstein Manor, Pokolistan, by the eccentric but gentle scientist, Victor Frankenstein, to carry out the creation of a bride for his creation, Eric Frankenstein, a homunculus made of various male corpses' body parts who wanted to experience love. After a long process, the female homunculus, known as "the Bride", has come to life, horrified by her creation while Frankenstein tried to give her flowers, but Victor calmed her down and began to teach her basic concepts for growing up, considering her a "newborn". Over the course of months, the Bride and Victor formed a close bond, with the scientist giving him a Tourmaline necklace as a present, while Frankenstein continued trying to woo his bride.
After acting finally like a human person, the Bride and Victor eventually fell in love. They at one point have sex on an operating table while be watched by a jealous Frankenstein, who the next day, massacred Victor, cutting him in half, horrifying Bride for the loss of her lover, although Frankenstein declared that Victor was an obstacle to their love. However, the Bride unleashed her fury on him for killing Victor, causing a fire in the manor, fleeing from Frankenstein and leaving her necklace behind, destroyed inside and generating heartburn from love.
Rejecting a stalker
While traveling the world, Bride was surprisingly stalked by Frankenstein, who remained obsessed with her and clumsily tried to win her over, causing her to attack and beat him every time she did so. Frankenstein's pursuit of the Bride took them to many parts of the world and to participate in historical events such as World War II, but even though she always escaped and rejected him, Frankenstein continued to pursue her. Over the years, Bride and Frankenstein would fight wherever she was[1] until Bride was detained at the Belle Reve Correctional Center, Louisiana, where she was locked up in the monster zone.[2]
Assassination of Ilana Rostovic
Grouped with monsters
In 2024, Bride was recruited by Amanda Waller, the strict director of A.R.G.U.S., to be part of Task Force M, a team consisting of Doctor Phosphorus, a sarcastic radioactive criminal, Nina Mazursky, a good-hearted amphibious scientist, G.I. Robot, a robot that fought in World War II and Weasel, a wild anthropomorphic weasel, and led by the gruff General Rick Flag Sr.. Controlled by nanobombs in their necks, Task Force M was tasked with traveling to Pokolistan and protecting Princess Ilana Rostovic, the heir to the nation's throne, from the sexist group, the Sons of Themyscira.[2]
At night, Bride left Poko Castle to head to the old Frankenstein Manor, however, Nina followed her, fearing that Flag would electrocute them with the detonator, but without taking the warning into account, she continued to her destination, followed by a Nina nervous.[2] Inside the manor, Bride and Nina explored the manor in search of the necklace, while she briefly told her teammate about the life of Victor and his family. During the search, Bride remembered her creation and eventual love affair with Victor until Frankenstein killed him, breaking her into tears as she remembered her turbulent past.[1]
"What the fսck?"
Thanks to Nina, Bride recovered the necklace before they were ambushed by Circe, an immortal Amazon witch seeking to kill Ilana, and the Sons of Themyscira who entered the castle to kill the duo, but Bride defended Nina and began killing the witch's soldiers before Circe tried to kill her with her magic, while Bride took Nina out of the castle to call the rest of the team. Bride tried to confront Circe, but when she was about to kill her, she was tormented by her memories, an opportunity that Circe used to turn her arms into inflatables and throw her and Nina to the ground, while her subordinates captured them.[1]
With Bride and Nina defeated, Circe and her army chained them up in the mansion to violently attack the unprotected castle as the rest of the Creature Commandos set out to rescue them before deducing Circe's true intentions and joining the battle against the army. When Circe appeared to assassinate Ilana, the Creature Commandos were able to defeat her, though the witch angrily warned that they had destroyed the world by ruining her mission, but despite the warning[3], the team took her prisoner and returned to Belle Reve.[4]
Bride and Nina become friends
Returned as a prisoner, Bride attempted to stay away from her former teammates, but chose to stand up for Nina when she was threatened by another prisoner. Shortly after, the team was recruited by A.R.G.U.S. to return to Pokolistan and execute Ilana after Circe showed Waller an apocalyptic vision showing the princess becoming a world-conquering tyrant; however, due to Flag Sr.'s refusal to participate due to his feelings for Ilana, Bride was named the team's new field leader. With her new position, Bride and the team prepared to travel back to the country, with her and Nina forming a close friendship after their battle at the manor, although they remained doubtful about whether killing Ilana was the right thing to do.[4]
Deploying to the local Pokolistan airport, the Creature Commandos were met by Alexi, one of the Amethyst Knights in Pokolistan's employ, who guided them back to the castle, but upon being informed of their murderous intentions, ambushed them in the alleyway to kill them. The team managed to evade the Pokolistani army[5], though they were forced to split into groups to evade execution. At night, Bride and Nina reunited and hid in a brothel, where they defended the employees from two abusive metahumans. After regrouping [6], the team infiltrated the castle to assassinate the princess until they were interrupted by Eric Frankenstein, who was sent by Flag Sr. to warn the team, but Bride shot her stalker upon seeing him, drawing the attention of the guards.[7]
Bride executes Ilana
While Rostovic was taking her morning swim in the lake, Bride employed Nina to stab her underwater, though the plan was ruined when Weasel alerted the princess, resulting in Nina being killed by her, much to Bride's horror. At that moment, Waller contacted the team via radio and aborted the mission after discovering Circe's deception. Determined to prevent her only friend's death from being in vain, Bride confronted Ilana in her office, where she discovered her true sinister plans for world domination, which included seducing Flag Sr. to her side and using the shapeshifting metahuman Clayface to trick Waller into believing she could be innocent. When Ilana attempted to kill her to silence her, she was able to shoot first and complete the mission before returning to the United States with her teammates. As a thank you to the team, Waller ordered the non-human inmate division to be remodeled to serve as the official base for the new iteration of the Creature Commandos, with Bride agreeing to continue leading the team for future missions.[7]
