The Brotherhood of Sion was an ancient order of archers who trained Green Arrow.
History
Founded by followers of Joseph of Arimathea. The Brotherhood of Sion was a secret society of local militiamen who defended the northern coast of Ireland between the Bush Millis and Bailycastle against raids from Saxon pirates.[1]
Local lore claims that the group was known for its brutal tactics and the monk-like devotion of its members, who were legendary bowmen. New recuits were required to undergo often life-threatening tests and renounce attachments to the everyday world.[1]
In the early 21st century, Oliver Queen joined the Brotherhood of Sion, in an effort to perfect his archery skills. However, he left the organization, after one year, and became the vigilante known as "Green Arrow".[1]
Trivia
- Some historians believe that the Brotherhood of Sion inspired more modern underground militant organizations like the Irish Republican Army and the Klu Klux Klan.[1]
