Bruce Wayne is The Batman Who Laughs, a version of Batman who was corrupted by Joker Venom.

History

Batman was forced by The Joker to watch as he recreated Bruce's origin and then doused the orphans with Joker Venom. Bruce snapped and killed his nemesis, exposing himself to Joker Venom in the processes. The toxin transformed him into The Batman Who Laughs, the deadliest serial killer in the Multiverse.
