The Shooting Star is an alternate version of Batman, who was inspired to create his vigilante identity by a shooting star rather than a bat.
History
Bruce Wayne was in an observatory, trying to think of a disguise. He thought to himself that criminals were a superstitious lot whose lives were dictated by talismans and witchcraft, and so to counter that he must be a symbol of the good luck of the law. Suddenly he saw a shooting star overhead and he took it as an omen.
Notes
- The concept of The Shooting Star as an alternate Batman was recycled by Grant Morrison in The New 52 to create Shooting Star (Earth 47).
