Bruce Wayne is a vigilante known as the Batman from Gotham City, and uses both his scientific as well as fighting skills in his war on crime.
History
Bruce Wayne was born to Thomas and Martha Wayne, members of the prominent Wayne Family of Gotham City. While Bruce was still a child, his parents were murdered after attending a formal ball at the Monarch Hotel along with him. Their shooting left him traumatized and he promised to never let any such tragedy happen again.[1]
After starting his war on crime as the vigilante "Batman", he decided to adopt sonic weapons he himself built, motivated to do so due to being haunted by the sound of the gunshots that killed his parents. He also had encounters with Catwoman, an assassin and thief who eventually became a vigilante.[1]
Gotham under attack
Eventually, Batman joined the Monitor's army of heroes to fight against threat called "Infinite Crisis" endangering the Multiverse. As the most powerful wave of the crisis struck, realities were torn asunder and cast adrift into the Bleed. The Gotham of Earth-19 was attacked by the drones under the command of the mysterious entity behind the assault on the Multiverse. Batman meanwhile was weakened and disoriented due to the effects of the Bleed, after a Destroyer drone teleported near him.[1]
Struggling to carry on after eliminating his enemies, Batman remembered the promise he had made to his dead parents. Just then, his vigor was restored due to the neural link with the "Protectors" whom Superman of Earth-0 had called for help. Superman guided them in helping Batman reach the base the Monitor had set up on Earth-19's Gotham. He encountered Catwoman again when she destroyed a car blocking their paths, but she soon ran away, leaving him to fight the drones after her.[1]
As he continued fighting through the waves of drones sent after him, his Protectors acquired an ability called "Stolen Powers", which allowed him to temporarily gain powers like super-strength. As he reached near the Monitor's base, his path was interrupted by the arrival of several drones, including a "Destroyer". Batman however quickly dealt with them and finally reached the safety of the base, linking up with other heroes. They however had to drop the neural link due to it being dangerous over long periods of time.[1]
Cast into the Bleed
Gotham City of Earth-19 was cast into the Bleed despite Batman temporarily quelling their attack. The drones soon returned and started assaulting the Monitor's base, which his A.I. assistance called Construct was still trying to get online. Batman soon dealt with the drones, allowing Construct to set up an artifact foundry. Superman then guided the Protectors in building a Nil Weapon and had them take Batman back to the base, showing them that Construct had built a facility to create friendly drones in order to aid them in the fight.[1]
As the Construct finished setting up the ability to recall allied heroes back to the Monitor's base, Superman had the Protectors teleport Batman back to the base to heal. The enemy however soon deployed a powerful turret to attack their drones, with Green Lantern of Earth-0 rushing off alone to fight it. He however was soon injured and teleported away by Construct, before Batman was sent along with the Monitor's drones to take the turret down.[1]
Batman was forced to fight the enemy's turret without the help of the Monitor base which could heal him, and was warned not to try to fight the turret on his own. He soon succeeded in destroying the turret, allowing the Monitor's base to finally come online and the Construct to communicate directly with the heroes. Earth-19's Gotham was however soon struck by mysterious objects from sky. The neural link between Batman and the Protectors was also severed. After Construct helped in re-establishing it, Batman and Superman found that the Gothams of Earth-19 and Earth-0 had merged together.[1]
Freeing Gotham
The heroes soon discovered that their enemy had set up a base in Erth-0's Gotham and went to free it. As Batman went to deal with an enemy turret, it deployed an A.I. clone of him, which if attacked, would cause the turrets to attack him every time he was near them. Batman however soon finished the turret and the clone, while the Construct finished setting up Power Relays throughout the city that allowed the Monitor's champions and drones to be strengthened, however was told that he would have to capture them first.[1]
After capturing the power relays, Batman soon went back to assaulting the enemy turrets and destroyed them, clearing his path to the enemy's base. Once there, he succeeded in destroying the base's power core and freeing Gotham from the assault of the drones. Wonder Woman of Earth-0 soon arrived to the area, while Batman swore to deliver justice to whoever was behind the attack on Gotham.[1]
After learning from Superman that they can't return Gothams to their universes, she suggested using the area for trials of the Protectors, which others agreed with. Batman later continued fighting alongside the other heroes to stop the crisis.[1]
