Stretch-O-Mutt, real name Buddy, is a superhero dog capable to stretch his body into any shape he wants. He is one of the allies of Krypto, the Superdog.
History
Buddy was one of the guard dogs instructed to protect Alfie, S.T.A.R. Labs' most advanced robot yet. While his commander explained his mission, Buddy was distracted by playing with his toy ball. He ended up getting separated from his troop while trying to retrieve his ball. He accidentally pushed his toy ball away and, while chasing it, Buddy fell into a tank of Experimental Elastic Solution.
Buddy howled for help, drawing the attention of his guard dog troop outside the building, but Mike, a thief disguised as a janitor, slammed the door shut, locking them out and sending his partner to get Alfie. Buddy's howls also caught the attention of Superdog, who broke into S.T.A.R. Labs to try to help him, ignoring the crooks stealing Alfie. When he was picked up and taken to the ground by Superdog, Buddy realized that he had acquired elastic powers, becoming some sort of "stretch-o-mutt". When his troop managed to enter S.T.A.R. Labs, they noticed Alfie's absence, his commander then accused Buddy of being goofing off while the thieves getting out with Alfie and dismissed him on the spot. Buddy then told Superdog what had happened, who wondered if the two "janitors" he saw earlier had something to do with it. Buddy quickly realized that they couldn't be real janitors, because the S.T.A.R. Labs' cleaning crew only came at night.
Looking for clues, Superdog sniffed ice cream, to which Buddy reasoned that the crooks were using the Cuckoo Cone Ice Cream Factory, which was closed for repairs, as a hideout. Superdog thanked him for the tip, saying he would check it out, then Buddy convinced him to let him help him, using his transformation to create a superhero uniform for himself.
At the Cuckoo Cone Ice Cream Factory, Stretch-O-Mutt and Superdog overheard the thieves confessing to the theft. Superdog then used his heat vision to heat up the ice cream truck. In response, Mike turned on Alfie and ordered him to defeat Superdog. Alfie knocked him out by dropping a cardboard cutout on top of him. Stretch-O-Mutt then turned into a ball and threw himself at the crooks. Frightened, they tried to run away, so Stretch-O-Mutt transformed into a slingshot and threw them to the other side of the factory, and getting there before they could land, transformed into a bouncing house and threw them into the ice cream truck, trapping them there.
After returning Alfie to S.T.A.R. Labs, Superdog explained to the commander and his troops that Buddy was the real hero.[1]
