Christopher - who considered himself the Burden - is a member of the Movement in Coral City.
History
Christopher was a young boy raised in the religious community of Hammond's Dell. Like his brother Jacob, he had shape-shifting powers. In the strict religious environment, the hate his parents had for Christopher and the love for Jacob manifested in their powers. Jacob developed angelic wings, while Christopher would have uncontrollable transformations into a demonic being whenever he was angry or upset. This led the community, and Christopher, to believe he was possessed.
The brother's true natures, however, were exactly the opposite. Jacob constantly bullied Christopher, while Christopher never hurt a fly. Christopher was frequently punished with flogging and caning. One night, Jacob killed their father and blamed Christopher for it. In desperation, Christopher fled to Coral City, convinced he was a burden on everyone around him.[1]
