Butcher was hired by Hell to hunt down and kill Mitchell Shelley otherwise known as The Resurrection Man.
History
Butcher was able to locate Shelley at a Metropolis library where moments earlier Shelly had encountered Kim Rebecki a private investigator who was also on the hunt for him. A battle erupted with Butcher finally killing Shelly and absorbing his life force for his magics. The end result was too much for Butcher and he seemingly self destructed.

- Necromancy: Butcher uses his magical abilities to hunt down people. In order to fuel his magic he must take the life of someone each time he performs a ritual.
