Synopsis for "Chapter 4"

In an underground interrogation room, Mordred's agents question Marnie. They ask her where Connor and his friends are.

Meanwhile in Camelot, the Children of the Round Table begin their training with Merlin and Captain Gwen. The spirits of the knights inside the weapons introduce themselves and tell the children the names of the weapons and some of their capabilities. Gwen then has them swap out the weapons for wooden replicas, saying that they need to learn to fight on their own rather than rely on the weapons' power. Their first practice session, fighting against magically animated suits of armour, is an embarrassing failure but Merlin remains confident.

After training the Children go back inside the castle and rejoin their parents, who believe it is a hotel. When Fel's mother sees Connor going off to his room alone she tells Fel to invite him to stay with them. She does but the brooding Connor declines and she reluctantly leaves him alone. After Fel is gone, Lancelot tells him that trying to be strong all the time can get lonely. Connor asks Lancelot why he and Arthur hate each other. Lancelot replies that they don't hate each other exactly, and were once best friends. Connor then asks what happened between them, to which Lancelot replies there were secrets, dishonesty and pride. He warns Connor not to shut his friends out as they are the most important things he has.

The next day Gwen leads the children out for another day of training, which she says will have to be harder than the last one. However, they refuse and Fel says they want to know what they're training for. Arthur and Merlin both agree that is reasonable and Merlin leads them to a chamber in the castle where the Round Table stands, split down the middle. He tells them that once eight knights joined in fellowship, and after a time Arthur's son Mordred joined them as the ninth. Mordred betrayed the Knights of the Round Table, destroying the peace and splitting the table. In the fighting that followed, the knights and Mordred were cursed with their souls bound to objects. Mordred now resides in the scabbard of Excalibur, which is held by someone with too much power. Fel asks who the person with the scabbard is.

Back in the interrogation room, a man wearing a suit enters carrying the scabbard. He puts it down on the table and it rears up like a snake to face her. Marnie makes fun of him for being trapped in an inanimate object and Mordred yells at the man in the suit to kill her, but he refuses as he believes she could be useful. Marnie tells the man in the suit that he is a terrible human being and she didn't vote for him. The man with the scabbard is in fact the President of the United States, and the interrogation room is underneath the White House.
