The entity known as Vessel is an artificial being brought into the fold of fledgling supervillainy by Lex Luthor to be tutored by Red Hood.

Caden was a fresh new student to a school for future supervillains headed by Dr. Veritas, overseen by Jason Todd and privately founded by Apex Lex. Red Hood would often come to the young automata in employing use of his powers in order to find the friends he'd thought lost some months prior to accepting Luthor's offer.[1]

Generation Outlaw

At some unknown time & date, Caden eventually got kicked out of the scholarship due to being unmanageable and was sent home. Dissatisfied with the result Vessel would opt to get revenge on Hood and Veritas by showing them all how dangerous a villain he could be.[2] Failing this as his plans were disrupted by unseen complications not planned for, he broke down in tears but was given another chance by Jason to resume the curriculum. He would soon join Red Hood's Class as they relocated to the orphanage where he and other wayward kids grew up in to continue his studies.[2]

Powers

  • Android Body
    • Ectokinesis: His ecto-cybryonic body enables Vessel to channel the spirits of those who died. Doing so enables him a great many special abilities through imbibing their essence.[1]
    • Power Replication: Caden's ability enables him to replicate the super faculties of those who've passed from the mortal plane. He once used Deadman's ability to commandeer the bodies of Red Hood's old teammates and his former handler Veritas using mass remote possession.[2]

Abilities

  • Genius Level Intellect: Caden possesses high functioning intellectual capacity which he uses for schemes and manipulation.[2]
    • Tactical Analysis
    • Mechanical Engineering: Vessel professes an aptitude for technological fabrication more advanced than someone his age should understand. Having used Ms. Veritas and her clones to construct a a Bother I satellite as a makeshift bomb to hold the world hostage with.[2]
    • Science
    • Deception: Vessel was apt enough to use his cunning and guile to trick others using the pretense of his childlike innocence to his advantage.[2]

Weaknesses

  • Power Limitation(Possibly Formerly): Vessel's power often caused him great pain whenever he uses them to make contact with the dead. He would eventually grow out of this aspect of the limits to his abilities with successive use however.
  • Overconfidence and immaturity often undid his ability to mull over most plans concocted.[2]
