Calleen was one of the earliest Green Lanterns. The first Plant Elemental, Calleen started out as a small sprout on a dying planet. Refusing to die, its hope thrived and life flourished over the centuries and eventually the sprout became a sentient elemental.

History

Calleen of Alstair was the first sentient plant conceived on the dead planet Alstair, as it was overwhelmed by fire from sky a long period ago. Her refusal to surrender despite possible extinction permitted the planet throughout the hundreds of years to flourish with life. This outs her on the path to becoming one of the Original Seven Green Lanterns. She became Green Lantern 006 and was killed fighting Volthoom. Her body is at present situated in the Vault of Shadows.
