Captain Action #3 is an issue of the series Captain Action (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 1969.
Synopsis for "... And Evil this way Comes!"
As a jet-liner flies over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Franciso on a return from a flight to Asia, the pilot and co-pilot witness a huge earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault. The earthquake has two important unintended consequences. All of Captain Action's magical coins are lost except the Mercury Coin and three others that are now fused together. The three fused coins are those of Zeus, Hercules and Heimdall (the watchdog of the Norse gods). Clive Arno gives the Mercury Coin to his son Carl, who as Action Boy, now has the power of great speed. Clive Arno keeps the fused coin for himself for use as Captain Action. In a separate incident, Dr. Stefan Tracy is working to perfect his atomic nullifier when the earthquake hits. Dr. Stefan Tracy, the father of Clive Arno's late wife, and the grandfather of Carl Arno, is transformed into Dr. Evil. As Captain Action and Action Boy work tirelessly to rescue victims, Dr. Evil plots the overthrow of humanity. When Captain Action goes to see Dr. Stefan Tracy for help, he reveals himself as Dr. Evil. A battle ensues. Captain Action is victorious, but Dr. Evil escapes, vowing to return.
