Captain Clown was an android used by the Joker.

History

Joker programmed the robot to pilot a garbage barge he used to spread his a laughing toxin into Gotham City.

Once Batman intervened Captain Clown was ordered to fight him. Using his Super strength he quickly overpowered him. After the fight Batman was thrown into the river in a perforated container to drown. Once he escaped he fought Captain Clown once more. Knowing that he cannot win in a hand to hand combat Batman used car masher to destroy android which irritated Joker.

In the chase that followed, Joker rode the cube down a conveyor belt, the crushed remains of Captain Clown sank and melted in a vat of molten metal.
