Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and Captain Smollett's Treasure!"

The Schemer is a criminal mastermind who is planning to rob a Treasury Building. One of his goons asks how he intends to transport and hide a million in bullion after stealing it from the US Government, but the Schemer merely says he’s “got a scheme for it.” Elsewhere, Freddy Freeman is peddling papers when Officer Jim Bellows, his loyal cop friend, drives up to say he got a promotion and now he gets to drive a squad car! He soon takes off to go after some criminals on the Northeast Highway and Freddy calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to help out as Captain Marvel, Jr., flying off to find them in a large blue van. The goons find that shooting at him yields predictable results, so they instead drive a police car off a bridge with Officer Jim in it, forcing Junior to save him first. Officer Jim is downcast that the goons got away, but Junior encourages him that they won’t have any well to sell that kind of gold. However, some days later, Freddy reads in the paper that the goons have gotten away to a southern port and may be trying to ship it somewhere it’ll be easier to fence, so he calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to go find them as Captain Marvel, Jr. (and to get away from his still very annoying parrot.) On his way out though, Mrs. Wagner offers him some pie to take with him… only to find in the pack is actually just the parrot, who has also eaten the pie. He decides it’d take too long to take him back and brings him along.

Later, Freddy decides to head aboard a ship and finds a hearty sailor, Captain Smollett, who happens to be looking for buried treasure much like Freddy’s loud parrot talks about. Freddy asks if he’s heard about the gold shipment, but Capt. Smollett says that he’s looking for buried pirate treasure stolen from Spanish ships and buried it in a country swamp 300 years ago and he’s got a map to it! He offers Freddy join him as a Cabin Boy for cut of the treasure, which he decides is good for now. Later, they get stuck in a muddy river and someone pushes Freddy and his annoying parrot overboard. Freddy manages to get his head back above water in the mud and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. Nearby alligators find him less than appetizing and more tooth-shattering and Junior feeds them each others’ tails to keep them busy. Junior decides that Capt. Smollett decided to kill him so he wouldn’t have to share the treasure that he invited him to have a part of of his own volition and told him about. He soon spots the ship and boats leaving it to dig up the treasure, waiting until they dig it up the treasure. Junior finds that the treasure isn’t real pieces of eight and Spanish doubloons, but newly minted and finds that Capt. Smollett is a disguise the Schemer is wearing, punching him into his stolen treasure. The Schemer asks how he knew he wasn’t going for real treasure and Junior points out what the Parrot told him: pirates wouldn’t bury something in a swamp, since you’d never be able to get it back realistically. Later, Freddy tells Officer Jim that one of his goons tried to kill Freddy instead of letting him be a “witness” to them “finding” the “treasure.” He notes that the Parrot really solved the case though.

Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Moving Mountain!"

Freddy Freeman is peddling the Daily Gazette, which says that a new tunnel through Ponderoso Mountain has failed according to an engineer working on it. Freddy notes the engineer, Raymond Wright, hasn’t failed before and looks into things as Captain Marvel, Jr. by calling CAPTAIN MARVEL! At Ponderoso Mountain, the engineers tell Wright that they’ve gone through three drills and all of them broke and Wright is frustrated with how annoying this mountain has been to work on all day and kicks it. Suddenly, this triggers an avalanche that Junior dashes in to block from hitting anyone. Wright soon finds a strange golden cylinder on the ground unearthed by the avalanche and within it a strange parchment that tells him how to summon the “Spirit of the Mountain” by making a circle of burning balsam logs and pouring water between them to create steam, from which the Spirit will appear. Though Junior says something magical like that definitely isn’t real, Wright is desperate enough to try it and it soon summons a little old man dressed in blue Lederhosen, who says that Ponderoso Mountain has never really been helpful to mortal men and says Ponderoso is “irritable” due to it being bored with its surroundings and won’t move away unless a mortal commands the Spirit to do it. Wright says he sure wishes that would happen and the Spirit kicks the mountain, making it suddenly move!

Junior finds that this has dislodged a river and crushed an old hermit’s shack. Junior tries to stop it, but only the part he’s holding doesn’t move, the rest of the mountain creating a huge tunnel around him and starts moving towards a nearby city! Wright points out with the entire mountain having moved. Junior summons the Spirit of the Mountain again and tries to threaten him, only for the Spirit to turn into a rock, proving his magical power, and says that he wants his mountain to travel around the world to see it all. Junior whispers a solution to him and the Spirit agrees to it… and Ponderoso Mountain flies into the sky! Later, Freddy finds that the Mountain moved to the Moon to see the world easily and says that only he and Wright know the real secret of how it got there!

Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The World's Mightiest Shadow"

George Szarko is an apprentice magician who thinks he’s better than his trainer. He recognizes his Master Magician gets his powers from a magic trunk from his native city of Llhasa and steals into it later that night. He finds a book that teaches him how to detach a man’s shadow from his body and do his bidding, using it on the Master Magician by saying the words ZEESNAR… OMNIKAT… BELIAKO SHAN! Soon, the Master Magician’s Shadow seizes him as he calls for the police. Outside, Freddy Freeman hears the shouts and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. and flies in, punching over the shadow with ease, only for Szarko to instead use the spell on Captain Marvel, Jr., making a Shadow just as strong as the World’s Mightiest Boy! Junior quickly finds that they’re equally matched until the Shadow manages to punch him over, declaring himself the World’s Mightiest Shadow! The Master Magician is astonished as the Shadow flies after Szarko to join him, though Junior reveals to him that he was pretending to be beaten to get him to leave, hoping he can get back the magic book and reverse the spell with it. The Master Magician says that Szarko is the only person who can reverse it now (and likely won’t) so Junior goes off to figure out a way to make him. He follows the Shadow to Szarko’s house as the evil magician orders the Shadow to steal magical items from other famed magicians at the Forbidden City of Llhasa and orders the Master Magician’s Shadow to go steal the Master Magician’s trunk too. The World’s Mightiest Boy flies in once they’re gone and Szarko dashes to the book to try to find a spell to recall the Shadows, but Junior carefully blows at the book, which flips the page, making him read a different spell: NAHS OKALIEB… TAKINMO... RANSEEZ! However, this instead returns Captain Marvel, Jr.’s Shadow to him and Szarko uses a different spell to cause a blast of light that blinds Junior long enough that he can hide in a barrel in the basement. Captain Marvel, Jr.’s Shadow appears to Szarko… but he unfortunately finds that the rest of Captain Marvel, Jr. is attached to it and punches him over, then carries him to jail. Later, Freddy says that the Master Magician went back to Llhasa with all his magic books in his trunk and that this is better, since he likes his shadow staying where it belongs!
