Synopsis for Captain Marvel, Jr.: "A Monument to Peace!"

A Nazi spy ring is invaded by Captain Marvel, Jr. and arrests the three spies. Later, Freddy spies a statue being erected and unveiled… of Captain Marvel Junior! Freddy is so astonished by the gesture, made an anonymous artist known as Mr. X, that he runs into another disabled man with a crutch. When he gets home, he finds that him and the old man switched crutches and he has some kind of coded message from someone named “The Chief.” He replaces the note into a spare crutch and returns it to the old man, then calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to follow him as Junior to a warehouse. A nearby cop says that these are abandoned waterfront warehouses and the only person who lives there is an “old waterfront character.” and returns to being Freddy to try to sneak in. He hears two Nazis, Hans and Fritz, talking to him about how the code works and Freddy translates it as telling them to be at the Captain Marvel, Junior Statue at 12:30, since there’s a transmitter in it. Freddy steps on the wrong plank and it smacks him in the back of the head, knocking him out. The Nazis decide that shooting him would be too loud and instead leave him tied to a large clock on the waterfront’s minute hand to drop him into the water at 12:20. He manages to slip his gag on the barbed arrow part of the minute hand and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Junior again. He finds them calling in at 12:30 to their leader, Agent X, only for Junior to show up and punch them over, defeating them. Later, Freddy writes in his diary how the FBI arrested the spies and the people did want to make a real Captain Marvel Junior statue, but he offered they instead just buy more war bonds!

Synopsis for Captain Marvel, Jr.: "Monkeyshines!"

Freddy Freeman has bought a pet monkey and fans have been sending him in tons of suggestions in the mail of what they should name him. The mail carrier calls him a “monkey,” which upsets the Monkey and makes him throw an apple at his head and steal his mail bag. He soon steals some bananas from a nearby cart and the mail carrier slips on the monkey’s banana peels. He’s almost hit by a car, but Freddy calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to save him as Captain Marvel, Jr. A passerby says that the monkey is dangerous and should be locked up, but also thinks on how it’ll fit in with his secret plans. The mail carrier identifies him to Junior as Grumpy Jess Wall, a loner. The next day, he hears that Tom Wall was killed yesterday and the cops soon talk to Freddy, since the scene of Tom Wall’s house had the windows open 1/8” and monkey hairs on the sills and their most logical explanation is that they were stabbed by a monkey and they’ll have to at least arrest him. The cops insist that they have to kill the unnamed monkey and Freddy says that he’ll get the evidence by 9:00 and asks that he not tell anyone that the monkey was already apprehended. He calls CAPTAIN MARVEL outside to become Captain Marvel, Jr. and flies to the License Bureau to find the only other person in all of New York City who owns a monkey is a retired organ grinder named Guiseppe Verdio on 13th St. He finds out from him that he sold his monkey to Jesse Wall, who is Tom Wall’s cousin. He calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Freddy again and sneaks into Wall’s basement to find there’s a monkey. He hides under the stairs as Jesse comes down to tell his trained stabbing monkey to stab his uncle, since he thinks they’ll only suspect the only other monkey in town. Freddy sneezes, giving himself away and Jesse Wall knocks him out with a stick and leaves him bound and gagged in his basement. Thus, he decides he’s going to drop him off at home after his monkey comes home from stabbing his uncle and then stabs him. Meanwhile, Freddy’s Monkey hears the word “Monkey” and leaves through an open window, finding Freddy and slipping his gag, letting him call CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Capt. Marvel, Jr. He soon flies off to stop Jesse’s Uncle from being stabbed by a monkey and then tips over Jesse’s car outside and Freddy’s Monkey arrests the Stabbing Monkey. The next day, Freddy tells the mail carrier that he’s named his monkey Jeep, after the noise he makes.
