Synopsis for Mr. Tawky Tawny: "Mr. Tawny's Pleasure Peril"
Mr. Tawky Tawny has a busy life, being a docent and lecturer at the Natural History Museum during the day and writing adventure serials for Station WHIZ in the evening. He is alack to tell his friend George he can’t come by for canasta due to his busy schedule. On Sunday, his usual day off, even Billy Batson notices he seems to be overworking himself, but Mr. Tawny says he thrives on work. He suddenly finds a large sign showing that they’re near Hedonist Hollow and takes some time to sniff a flower. Billy tries to talk to him about his serial and he heads home to type up the script. In the still of the night, he looks up what “Hedonist” means and discovers that he’s rather the opposite of a hedonist. Kicking his typewriter, he decides he’s going to Hedonist Hollow and leaves in the night. Later on, Billy comes over to visit, but finds the typewriter kicked over and assumes there was a struggle, calling SHAZAM to summon Captain Marvel. He soon finds that he’s joined Hedonist Hollow, where people seem to party all the time and just enjoy a life free of responsibilities. Mr. Tawny introduces him to the Chief of the Pleasure Seekers, John Jolly, a corpulent man who dresses like a Roman. He tells them that to “Eat, Drink and Be Merry” is their motto and he started this gala a month ago, but has decided to continue it indefinitely. Captain Marvel is upset that he’s keeping people from living productive lives and ruining their jobs and careers, but everyone tells him they enjoy being there and to basically get lost. Captain Marvel wonders if John Jolly is doing something to make people so strange and calls SHAZAM to return Billy, who smells the flowers and soon suddenly becomes a pleasure-seeker like the others. He joins Mr. Tawny in a canoe ride while they discuss how foolish writing their adventure serial was until Billy falls out of the canoe. In the water, he comes to his senses and calls SHAZAM to summon Captain Marvel, who is more suspicious than ever. Captain Marvel quickly figures out that the special poppies do seem to entice people into becoming hedonists… but that also isn’t a crime either. Captain Marvel next wonders where the food all seems to be coming from and finds that John Jolly and his men are just stealing the food from a nearby warehouse and punches him out, then digs up the poppies. Later, Billy visits Mr. Tawny at home, who finds he’s elated and jumping for joy… Just to be back at home to write more of his serial!

Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Captain Marvel and the House That Didn't Want to Be Haunted"
A lonely and abandoned house is elated to find that Mr. Morris and Billy Batson are coming to take a look at it before he hopes to fix it up to make for a good house for one of his engineers. The house becomes worried due to errant lightning, but level-headed Billy says that there’s no such thing as ghosts! Seeing a visible cloud of vapor erupting from the dank basement, Mr. Morris is worried that it’s a ghost and starts to run away until Billy calls SHAZAM to summon Captain Marvel. He soon tries punching this ghost, but instead finds that it’s just normal basement vapors… just as Mr. Morris falls through the busted floor and on to a discarded mattress. Captain Marvel looks around to see if he needs to actually address a ghostly problem as Mr. Morris hears whistling wind coming through the lack of weather-stripping and starts legging it again for the cellar stairs. Running facefirst into a discarded union suit on a clothesline, he thinks it’s a ghost and dashes off again. Captain Marvel goes to check on it and runs into Mr. Morris, knocking him into a pile of coal while he falls into a discarded sack of flour. Mr. Morris thinks that Captain Marvel is a ghost (while Captain Marvel thinks he’s a demon) and he quickly scarpers, deciding the house is definitely haunted, much to the house’s chagrin. Later, two men in suits come to look over the place, hoping it is a real haunted house, only finding Captain Marvel covered in flour. The men, upset that it isn’t haunted, leave in a huff and Captain Marvel leaves. The house is angry at him, but is happier when Captain Marvel returns with Mr. Morris and explains it’s just a busted house and the house is soon happy once it’s properly repaired and has a new engineer and his family ready to move in, thanking Captain Marvel after all.
