Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Captain Marvel Battles The Liquid Horror"

A scientist discovers with horror that the formula he's created is a self-renewing universal solvent that could destroy the world if it got out of its flask! He calls Billy Batson so Captain Marvel can safely dump it somewhere in outer space. King Kull overhears this and tries to steal the solvent to let it destroy the human race so he can have his revenge. Eventually the bottle's broken, but Captain Marvel flies around it fast enough to spin it into a whirlwind that flies the stuff into space. King Kull escapes to menace the world anew.

Synopsis for Capt. Kid: "Capt. Kid and The Will To Satisfy"

Pudgy finds Captain Kid is punching a punching bag in his backyard, trying to toughen up to fight a bully, “Cookie” Sloan. However, Pudgy points out that Cookie is now rich after his great uncle left him a huge fortune and he's sharing it with all his friends! Captain Kid immediately changes his tune and dashes hard so he can suck up to Cookie, only for Cookie to reach his leg out around a corner, tripping him. Cookie says he heard him saying he planned to punch him in the face, but let's Captain Kid off when he says he's certainly a friend of his. Cookie says that he's got to go see a lawyer to hear the reading of his great uncle's will at his office downtown on Slott St. Captain Kid is more than willing to lend Cookie his bike so he can get there, only for Cookie to immediately run headfirst into a tree, destroying the bike. Captain Kid offers he'll give him money to take a taxi and he heads off. However, when Cookie exits after a few minutes, he says his great uncle didn't leave him any money so he'd better learn who his friends are, then shoves Captain Kid's head into a telephone pole and leaves, laughing at him. Captain Kid, defeated, decides that you can't treat people for what they are and not what he can get out of them.

Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Captain Marvel and The Robot Hunt"

Sterling Morris would like to join a prestigious hunting club, but he's too soft-hearted to shoot an innocent animal. Seeing that Doc Quartz has made Timmy Tinkle a robot dog for companionship, Morris asks him to make an assortment of robot animals he could hunt without any pangs of conscience. After they run rampant, Captain Marvel's about to destroy them, but Timmy reminds them he's a robot who's practically alive and, in his eyes, this would be murder. To appease his friend and also keep the robots from doing any harm, they establish a zoo of the robot animals.

Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Captain Marvel and the Curse of the Black Thumb"

Billy visits Cissie Sommerly as she tends to her garden, but accidentally wakes the garden gnome who lives there by dropping a stone down the hole where he lives. In his annoyance, he curses her and Captain Marvel both with "the curse of the black thumb," which makes any plant near them wither and die. This comes back to haunt the gnome when he finds himself targeted by a hungry fox, and no plants around to hide in because of the results of the curse he laid. Captain Marvel saves him, and Cissie gives the gnome her old dollhouse to live in. In gratitude, he breaks the curse and restores all the dead flowers.

Trivia

  • Despite the cover, Captain Marvel doesn't manage to wrestle a Robot Rhino to the ground. Instead, it rams itself into a boulder while struggling with him, destroying itself.
