Synopsis for "Nippo Meets His Nemesis"
Billy's concluding a west coast broadcast, and an admiral shows him the plans for "America's most remarkable ship". They're unaware that Nippo, the Japanese spy, is watching through the window. Once they're gone, he blows the safe and takes the plans back to his handler. Who proceeds to read him the riot act, because the plans are for Old Ironsides from 1812! Nippo plans to get revenge on Billy Batson for humiliating him, and visits the station in disguise, claiming to know where the stolen plans are (Billy being determined to get them back because of their historical significance). He leads Billy to his secret base, unmasks, and is about to burn the boy with a flame thrower, but Billy transforms in time. Then Nippo threatens to burn the plans, but Marvel uses a Japanese bomb that was so poorly-made, it's actually a fire extinguisher! He then puts "the American touch" on it to make it into a functioning bomb and blows up the building.
Nippo's blown into the sky where he's caught by Cap, and turns on the others, saying the rest of his cell is building a secret battleship on Hoodlum Island. It's actually a submarine, and submerges to try to escape Marvel, but he just dives after it and hauls it to shore by the anchor chain. To add insult to injury, before the spies are thrown in a concentration camp, the admiral explains the "useless" plans the Japanese stole actually have the plans for cutting-edge new engines of war on the back, due to paper rationing.

Synopsis for "Captain Marvel, Detective"
Wealthy Rofle Scarron is dying, and calls for his attorney so his will can be amended and his estranged children provided for. No sooner is the call made than a menacing cloaked and monocled figure enters Scarron's bed chamber and shoots him dead. Next he clubs Jenkins the butler and the doctor, who were coming the other way as the murderer made his exit. Billy overhears the murder reported on the police band, transforms and flies over, and changes back to investigate. Billy's thrown out by the bereaved parties, but transforms and throws the butler into a chair.
After the killer strikes again, killing the butler, Marvel chases him to the roof and finds the lawyer already up there. Billy climbs down the chimney, with them assuming that's where the killer went, and is almost enflamed by the furnace. The attorney's down there already, and claims the killer must've burned to death. However, Marvel figures out he is the guilty party, and planned to make a healthy sum from Scarron's son filing a lawsuit to contest the will.
