Synopsis for "Phantom of the Frisco Fog"

Tojo calls Hitler and demands he make good on a promise to conquer San Francisco so the Japanese can set up there. Der Fuhrer calls his agents in the area, who quickly devise a sinister plan.

Soon ghostly figures form out of the San Francisco fog, and after that start leading Nazi forces in the streets. Billy becomes Captain Marvel and flies to the rescue, but even he can't catch a villain he can't touch. Marvel does find out smoke-pots strewn all over town are the cause of not only the strange fog, but also the cause of everyone in town losing their memories, leaving the city ripe for a hostile takeover. Cap goes to the civic center where all the suggestible people are to be given their orders, but in changing back to Billy to enter unnoticed, only falls victim to the gas himself. Fortunately, he bumps into a Nazi soldier and knocks his gas mask off, and the befuddled trooper's happy to let him have it. Transforming, he confronts the phantom again, who turns out to be a dwarf in a cloud of smoke, explaining why he seemed untouchable. Captain disperses the fog by throwing the pots into the bay, and the Navy destroys a Japanese battleship arriving to claim the city.

Synopsis for "The Monster Society of Evil Ch. 7: The Lost Sunrise"

Just before Captain Marvel can stomp Mr. Mind, a pigeon snatches the worm up in its beak and flies away. When Marvel catches up to it Mr. Mind is gone, and he laughs at the thought that the fiendish villain met his end being eaten by an ordinary pigeon.

In actuality, Mr. Mind telepathically commanded the bird to drop him, and he falls into a load of horse meat being shipped to Nazi Germany passed off as prime beef for Hermann Goering. Mind pops out and the two argue briefly about who is more evil, before Hitler himself comes in and puts a stop to it, as Mr. Mind is an ally even he respects. After a radio broadcast mocking Captain Marvel with his narrow escape from death, Mr. Mind unveils his latest diabolical plan: to stop the Earth's rotation so that Germany will be in perpetual daylight and America in perpetual night. This is achieved by firing all the guns on the Maginot Line at once.

Marvel flies to Europe to investigate the awesome blast. He attacks Hitler, but leaves to fix the Earth's rotation when he hears that instances of pneumonia and other diseases are exploding because of the darkness and cold America is trapped in. By borrowing all the anchor chains of the Allied navy and pulling on them with all his strength, Captain Marvel manages to start the Earth spinning again. With that crisis averted, he flies to Mr. Mind's lab to capture the worm, but Mr. Mind is expecting him, and unleashes a horde of giant mutant animals.
