Synopsis for "The Great Stone Face"
Captain Marvel's fan club enjoins sculptor Gostum Talentte to carve a giant Rushmore-like face of the hero into a mountaintop. A pair of unsavory types try to buy the mountain from its owner, who refuses, having already agreed to go ahead with the carving project. The pair hire Talente's rival, Watt A. Chizler, to sabotage the project, doing things like cutting the rope holding up Talente and vandalizing the face once it's completed. Then shooting at the spectators with a rifle. Marvel takes a punch at Chizler but misses, cracking open the mountain instead. Inside, he finds out what the criminals were trying to buy the mountain for: a rich vein of valuable aluminum ore.
