Synopsis for "Capt. Marvel Battles the Black Spot Gang of Chicago"

Billy arrives in Chicago to take a tour of all its famous sights, but asks his guide where all the gangsters are, only to be laughed at for the idea that the Windy City's still a hotbed of gangster activity. Only for a friend of his guide to run up and say he's being threatened by the Black Spot Gang. This is followed by other people being given similar menacing flyers and drive-by shootings with sinister black cars, just like in the old days.

Eventually Captain Marvel manages to track down the people responsible, the owners of the newly-opened Black Spot Night Club, who passed out the flyers and staged mock drive-by shootings using fire crackers to drum up interest in their venture at low cost. Since they didn't technically endanger anyone, Captain Marvel has to let them go.

Synopsis for "The Monster Society of Evil, Chapter 22: Mr. Mind Loses His Mind"

The thief pulls off Billy's gag to demand where the valuables are hidden, allowing Billy to say his magic word and easily overpower him. In the scuffle Mr. Mind is dropped on his head, and Marvel is surprised to find he's developed amnesia and is horrified and shamed by the hero's claims of his vile deeds. Mr. Mind publicly repents, causing his former flunkies to band behind the Crocodile Man Herikmer and try to assassinate Mr. Mind, but Marvel saves him.

Denied their revenge, the Crocodile Men decide instead to carry out Mr. Mind's greatest plan, and activate a machine that will attract an asteroid to crush America. Warned by Mr. Mind's vague memories when they see the asteroid coming, he and Marvel fly to where the villains are operating the machine. Unfortunately, by the time Marvel's finished punching them around, even shutting the machine off can't repel the asteroid. Marvel flies up and smashes through it with his indestructible body instead.

Herkimer slaps Mr. Mind in rage, causing the worm to hit his head and regain his evil personality.
