Synopsis for "The Genius of the Garret"

Fans repeatedly ask why a famous figure like Captain Marvel doesn't have his portrait hanging anywhere, and Billy decides to give them what they want. Morris recommends a famous artist who has his studio nearby, but Billy gets the directions wrong and ends up at the studio of unappreciated Rafael Rembratt instead. Marvel's unsettled by Rafael's bizarre vision, but comes back to collect the portraits of himself anyway, despite finding out dealer Jack Jipper only buys Rafael's work to keep the artist from starving. He interrupts a group of thieves coming to rob the artist of his latest works, who get away by throwing Rafael out the window and fleeing while Captain Marvel's busy saving him.

While looking for the thieves, Cap sees some of Rafael's art in a gallery selling for thousands, and realizes there really is a market for his work. Instead of going through Jipper, he has Rafael sell his work through a public exhibition, which has people all but fighting each other off to own his art. The thieves come back and try to kill Rafael to make his art more valuable, but Captain Marvel beats them up and exposes Jipper's scheme.

Synopsis for "The Monster Society of Evil, Chapter 23: Mr. Mind's School for Evil"

The members of the Monster Society ask their recovered leader what his next diabolical plan will be, but Mr. Mind can't think of anything after the recent abuse his brain's taken. A Crocodile Man suggests a refresher course at the school for criminals the Society operates. Mr. Mind soon regains his ability to plot, but to completely graduate, he must carry out an evil deed. He brings along the satyr Archibald, who needs to do the same to graduate.

They attack Billy Batson at a picnic, who changes to Captain Marvel and easily overwhelms the pair. However, the picnic's being held in an echo valley and the echo of his magic word causes him to change back into Billy. This lets Mr. Mind and Archibald capture the helpless kid. When they try to execute with a spiked knuckle weapon in front of the school, Billy manages to snatch his gag off with it instead and transforms to Captain Marvel. The hero beats up all the teachers and students at the crime school. Mr. Mind himself manages to escape again.
