Synopsis for "The House that Time Forgot"

The car of a husband and wife breaks down in the middle of nowhere as a thunder storm rages. Strangely, a house appears on a hill that seemed empty only a minute before. The wife goes to ask for shelter there as the husband gets their things, but when he looks up, both his wife and the strange house are both gone.

He goes to Billy Batson to ask for Captain Marvel's help, and the hero agrees to fly him to the location to investigate. A lightning strike makes the house appear again, and Captain Marvel enters but his companion's unable to follow before the house fades out of sight again. Inside, Marvel encounters a cast of characters from different time periods. Learning from a pirate captain named Damora that the house somehow exists outside of time, and anybody who tries to go outside just disappears, Marvel agrees to join forces to get back out again. Soon lightning makes the house appear again, and Damora jumps out the window with the man's wife in town. Marvel flies out after him just before it disappears again. He beats Damora up, and tells him he's got another place where time stands still to look forward to: prison, for trying to kill the woman's husband.

Synopsis for "The Monster Diamond"

Envoys of the international diamond market ask Captain Marvel to fly to a mine in South Africa. Once he gets there he finds out the secret of their mission: they've unearthed a diamond the size of a boulder, its value somewhere in the ballpark of $485,000,000,000. While trying to get it back to civilization, the gem's discovered and changes hands a few times, before Captain Marvel manages to get it back and give it to the diamond merchants. However, what they wanted Captain Marvel was not to collect it for them, but to destroy it, as that many diamonds flooding the market would kill the economy. He agrees to do so by hurling the giant diamond into space.
