Amateur chemist Billy accidentally receives a catalyst meant for a Willy Watson, professional chemist, a few blocks over. He does the right thing and delivers it, only for Watson's experiment to magnify the rate of yeast growth to run out of control. Within minutes the yeast has grown so big it's completely consumed Watson's lab and is spread to the entire city. After rescuing some people imperiled by the yeast growth, Cap has time to meet with Watson and figure out that ordinary water will stunt the yeast's growth. By causing a thunderstorm he restores everything to normal, and the president of a major chemical firm wants to buy Watson's formula for rapid yeast growth for all the good it'll do in their field.

Synopsis for "The Dream Transmitter"
Unscrupulous inventor Uriah Slumboor hands out special whistles to the Captain Marvel fan club, which acts as receivers when he broadcasts dreams to make them commit crimes. Such as following a gallant knight to a hidden treasure horde that turns out to actually be a bank vault that Slumboor loots. When Cap catches the boy standing dazed outside the decimated bank vault, he calls the club members together to look into this strange occurrence. They come upon Slumboor counting his loot, but he dumps the righteous boys into the cellar with a trap door. They call Cap by blowing their whistles, but Slumboor evades capture by hiding in a secret passage in his workshop. He comes up with another dream broadcast of Captain Marvel leading the club members into a trap, but it falls apart when Billy realizes he and Captain Marvel couldn't be around at the same time, and transforms, then easily captures Slumboor.
