In the future, Captain Venture, Earth's foremost space adventurer, and the beautiful Princess Zyra of Saturn, fly from world to world, exploring the mysterious depths of the universe.

Captain Venture met Princess Zyra in a palace amid an abandoned city on Saturn, where she was accidentally awakened from suspended animation during a fight. She was the last of the royalty of the former people of that place, who were descended from colonists from Earth. Since her time, the indigeneous Saturnian Kashas had taken over the city. Venture and Zyra escaped from them, reached Venture's rocketship, and left Saturn behind.[1]

They had an adventure on the Planet of the Spider Kingdom, leaving behind many dead Spider People and destroyed Spider dwellings.[2] They visited Planet Camur, where native Camurians were enslaved by invading alien Valhoes, and when they left, the Camurians were liberated and most or all of the Valhoes were dead.[3] They had an adventure on Zalko's Asteroid, at the end of which Zalko was dead.[4] In space, they encountered an enormous space ship of the Gonga, on its way to attack and conquer Earth with powerful advanced weapons; soon the Gonga, their ship, and their atomic cannon were explosively obliterated.[5] They visited Planet Camur, where native Midgons were attacked by invading alien Scanlos, and when they left, the Midgons were victorious and all of the surviving Scanlos were released after promising never to return.[6]

But their longest and most challenging adventure took place on the Asteroid Djunga.[7]
