Cassie Sandsmark is the Wonder Girl of a constructed alternate reality created by Mickey Mxyzptlk resembling the earliest days of Young Justice. She was created to distract the original members of Young Justice from investigating the false world and encourage them to willingly accept their place in it.
History
At a memorial for the Justice League; Tim Drake, Bart Allen and Connor Kent were sucked into the pocket dimension, but the real Cassie Sandsmark was not. The boys found themselves in a recreation of their first fight together against Mighty Endowed and the duplicate Cassie came to save them.[1]
After Mighty Endowed was defeated Cassie claimed to be the real Cassie Sandsmark who had also been pulled into the alternate dimension. She took the boys to the Justice League Watchtower on the moon to speak with the JLA. Three versions of Cassie met with the boys and the alternate universe incarnations of their mentors simultaneously, and tried to convince Young Justice to accept their place in the alternate reality and become Batman, the Flash and Superman respectively. She subsequently disappeared.
The boys were disoriented by this and the nature of the world they were in, which did not totally line up with their rosy memories. They went to look for Cassie and realised that she had somehow met with each of them at the same time. As soon as they wondered how that was possible they were attacked by Zombies and fled to their headquarters in Happy Harbor. They found Cassie seemingly unconscious and held captive by Captain Boomerang, Deathstroke and Lex Luthor.[2]
The boys fought the three villains, giving them the cathartic experience of fighting the three men who hurt them most of all, but during the fight Impulse's speed allowed him to see what looked like tracking lines from an old computer program all centred on Cassie. He accused her of being a fake and controlling the world they were in, and he and Superboy quickly came to blows. Robin broke up the fight but the three split up over their disagreements. Three separate versions of Cassie met with the boys simultaneously and asked them one more time to willingly accept a world where all their dreams would come true, but even Connor refused. Cassie transported the boys back to the Watchtower and told them they had angered the creator of the world. She told them that if they would not willing accept the world they were in then "he" would force them to and unleashed an army of duplicate heroes on them.[3]
The real Cassie Sandsmark, along with Cissie King-Jones and Red Tornado managed to find Mickey's world and rescue the boys. The real Cassie fought the duplicate and effortlessly destroyed her.[4]
