They are extremely powerful, possessing incredible powers, above those of other supernatural creatures such as angels and demons. Some of them are very ancient, often among the primordial forces that shaped the universe as it is now, and some are inspired by the cosmic horror genre, mostly from the "Great Old Ones" written by H.P.
