Africa is a large continent with a wide variety of pantheons. Following the African diaspora as a result of the slave trade, the religions of the West African people spread to the Americas; in the Caribbean they became known as the Loa of the Voudun. Several African heroes derive their origins from these deities and spirits, including Vixen and Nubia.
- Olorun and the Orishas of the Yoruba in Nigeria
- Ale of the Igbo in Nigeria
- Anansi of the Akan in Ghana
- The Miungu of the Swahili people[1]
Despite not being a homogenous group, they are sometimes mixed up or mistaken, much like the Gods of Greece and Rome.
