Meditation is the skill of either silencing or focusing one's mind. In its most basic forms, meditation can be used to relax and give control to those who suffer from stress, anger or other physical and psychological problems. It can alternately be used to reflect on important thoughts, deliberate plans and strategies, or ruminate on a philosophical level.

In its most advanced applications it can manifest in acts of mind-over-matter, including having full control over one's physical body or intangible soul.
