The story? How many times do I have to tell you? There's only one story, Lane. Metropolis. She's the story.

Maybe there should be some mystery to those 'mystery men,' maybe it's enough to keep their memories alive and honor them. They set the standard for all the heroes that followed. That's why we call it the Golden Age.
If the TV stations can't get their stories straight, that's a crying shame -- but that is exactly why the people of this city look to the Daily Planet for the truth! So go FIND it!
Kent, what planet are you from?
I know the city's going to pot! We all know it, ladies. It's not news!
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen.
She asked for this one to be played her way. The truth? Her direct quote was: 'Amazon plus deadly hormonal backup equals bad day for Lois.' I don't think anyone wants that.
Clark Kent and Lois Lane are the biggest professional rivals on the Planet staff... but he's obviously carrying a torch for her bigger than Lady Liberty's.
You may be ready to crawl away to some retirement village in Florida, but I'm not! You haven't heard the last of this, you old @#$%! And neither have the rest of you! Bunch of tired-out old %#$@ sitting around on your pimply old $%#&@s all day! I remember when this was a real newspaper, not a %#@& rich man's... er... oh... ah... if you'll... er... excuse me, ma'am...
Relax, Lois. Relax. You were beaten to it, that's all. Happens to the best reporters. Used to happen to me all the time. And you might as well take a good look at the fella who got the Superman story ahead of you. He's joined the Planet staff, as of today. Lois Lane, meet Clark Kent!

Walking into possible danger in pursuit of a story is good journalism. Walking into a death trap is just plain stupid!
It's the politicians we should be toasting. For once they've shown some backbone -- done the right thing. And I for one have never been prouder to print any story. So, sure -- I'll raise my glass with the staff. We'll drink to victory even as we stand on the edge of defeat. But, by Caesar, at least we stand united.

Look around, and you'll see that some of us are not so well off. Some have no jobs to grouse about. Some do not have enough to eat. Others sleep huddled in doorways or over gratings, using copies of this paper to keep warm. These unfortunates are our brothers and sisters. But all too often we look away as they pass. It's about time we stopped doing that.
To me, Metropolis has always been a city of great promise, where dreams could come true ... where the truth meant something ... and where a guardian angel kept the demons at bay!
