Cathal Cade was given the power to expand and contract space-time after his plane exploded, and uses his powers under the name Warp Vortex.

History

During an experimental flight to test the Alcubierre engine, an engine capable of faster than light speeds, Cathal Cade's plane exploded. The explosion gave Cade the ability to expand and contract space-time, and travel through it. Cade wanted to use his powers to save his wife, Ilyana Volkov, who died when his plane crashed. The Flash was hesitant as they did not understand how his powers fully worked, causing Cade to fight against the Flash and ignore his advice. Cade ultimately sacrificed his life and saved his wife.
