Synopsis for "Gotta Get Back in Time"

As the Super Sons strategize on how to save Wonder Woman from her prophesied death, Robin presents a cord called the Bind of Veils, woven by the gods from the same threads as the Lasso of Truth, which Damian retrieved from his father's collection of contingencies against the Justice League. Superboy is disturbed to learn that this collection exists, and that while Batman doesn't have a contingency for him, Robin seemingly does.

Robin spots Wonder Woman stopping a crashing bus, while Superboy consults the Doom Scroll, which now shows a sword piercing the Wonder Woman logo. As Wonder Woman tries to get medical attention for the bus driver, who is having heart trouble, Robin wraps the Bind of Veils around her to trap her in an illusion which will stop her from noticing the attempt on her life. Meanwhile, Superboy gets attacked by a minotaur with a flaming sword, who says that the alchemist Faust sent him to retrieve the head of an Amazon.

The Super Sons struggle against the minotaur, since his magical nature interferes with Jon's powers and he's too strong to be fazed by Damian's unpowered attacks. Just before he decapitates the helpless Wonder Woman, Robin tangles his legs up in a Batrope, hindering him enough for Superboy to bludgeon him senseless despite the interference. Wonder Woman awakens to find a bound and unconscious minotaur on the ground in front of her, to her confusion.

With no new prophesy immediate appearing on the Doom Scroll, the boys head back to Metropolis to check in with Rora. A flashback shows scenes from Vandal Savage's life, from 50,000 BC to his first meeting with Felix Faust and his squire Aurora in 1520 AD. For the next year, Faust attempts without success to replicate Savage's immortality, while Savage grows impatient to learn his ultimate destiny. Suddenly, Robin and Superboy appear in the town square outside their window, having been sent back in time 500 years by Rora's explosion.

After failing to get any information from the gawking townsfolk around them, Jon picks up Damian and flies off to explore. However, he passes too close to Savage's balcony, and the villain leaps off to grab them, slamming them into the ground. They fight back, but with Faust's help Savage quickly subdues them. The villains take the boys inside and Faust searches their memories to determine their origins. The revelation that they are from the future delights Savage and Faust, but horrifies Rora.
