Synopsis for "When Evil Calls!"

The Challengers of the Unknown are on the hunt for the body of Prof,[1] who was put in a stasis tube after being mortally wounded.[2] They find him wandering about the wilderness outside of Skull Mountain Village. He reveals that his life was saved by Chu but only to make him a slave bent on killing all humans. He attacks the fellow Challs and Ace uses his martial arts skills to subdue his friend. During the fracas, the group's SUV explodes and it blinds Red in his remaining eye, blinding him.

The psychic bond that Red and his brother Tino Manarray share allow the latter to see out of Red's eye during the explosion. He uses a live television performance to implore his fans to help save them in the Ozarks. In town, Chu notices local witch Granny Dark and conspires to use her powers for his gain. The Challengers continue working their way out of the woods as dozens of Tino's fans descend on foot and in a helicopter to spot them. They stumble into town, exhausted and injured but are turned back by Mayor Joshua Slade, who threatens to kill them for bringing trouble and attention to his town.

With Prof and Red both in urgent need of medical attention, Ace and Rocky decide to fight but they are overcome by a swarm of villagers who tie them to stakes and present them to Chu and Granny Dark as a sacrifice. Dark's magic has turned all of the townsfolk into slaves of Chu in revenge for them mocking her. Just as they are set to be killed, Tino arrives with a legion of fans and state troopers. A desperate Chu reaches for a gun to kill Ace but Slade dives in the way, sacrificing himself just as a hail of bullets from the police kills Chu. Slade begs for Red to have his eyes to atone for what he has done and the Challs fly out to a St. Louis hospital. The procedures are successful: Prof is healing and Red has his vision restored. A joyous Corinna kisses him while Rocky looks on in envy.
