Synopsis for "The Traitorous Challenger"

This story is reprinted from Challengers of the Unknown #2.

While answering the call from a prospector to get a strange creature out of his cave, the Challengers are interrupted from their task by June Robbins who warns them that her computer warned that their most recent mission would lead to their death. Undaunted, even with June's attempts to stop them, the Challengers lure the creature out of the cave. Once they lure it out far enough they find that away from it's natural habitat, the creature cannot survive and it quickly dies. The Challengers realize that if they went through with their original plan that was interrupted by June they would have died.

Synopsis for "Secret of the Sorcerer's Mirror"

This story is reprinted from Challengers of the Unknown #3.

When a museum is robbed of a mystic mirror, the crooks use its magic powers to learn the location of the ancient's most potent secret. Recapturing the mirror, the Challengers use it to find the location of each of the hidden parts of a mysterious mystical device. Each time the Challengers are confronted by men from the Mycroft mob and mystical defenses put in place to defend the items. When Mycroft and his men gather all the parts they attempt to use its power against the Challengers, however they fail to realize one of the parts was stolen by Red, and the Challengers defeat the crooks with ease.

  • A one-page Moolah the Mystic gag strip has the fortune teller looking for business by setting up a desk and crystal ball outside of the municipal building's marriage license division.
