Synopsis for "The Challengers Must Die!"
Tattletale editor Jennifer Taylor struggles with how to tell a compelling story about the Challengers of the Unknown and sends Harold Moffet to find a better story for her magazine. In Challengerville Prof and June Robbins have evidently discovered a new energy source, Ace works out, Red meditates, and Rocky watches television. Moffet arrives in Challengerville to no leads at the same time as a mentally disturbed man obsessed with the Challs who places a bomb in the Mountain.
June and Prof call in their teammates to show them the energy source and theorize that it can provide enough capacity for all of humanity's needs. Just as they arrive, the headquarters has a violent explosion. Ace, Red, and Rocky head to town to ensure that everyone is safe but June and Prof are missing in action. The buildings are in ruins and hundreds are dead; Moffet breaks the story on live television. The military comes to arrest the three Challengers and the energy source is still approaching Earth from deep space.
