Synopsis for "Time Fades Away"
Edward Sands walks the streets in Gotham City where he is accosted by street thugs and Robin intervenes to save him.
Elsewhere, Rocky reveals a memorial statue to the original Challengers of the Unknown. He does not think they are dead but gone on another adventure. He accepts a role as consultant to the new Challengers. The new team heads off to find their benefactor Sands and Sarah informs them that he left for Gotham in a hurry.
Batman investigates a sniper who claims to be from the Vietnam War. Robin and Sands also find apparitions of Green Lantern Alan Scott fighting Icicle in 1945.
Both Batman and the Challengers are looking for Sands and the Caped Crusader warns the team against amateur adventurers meddling in his city.
Sands is transported back to World War II and experiences being in Japan fighting.
The heroes are accosted by more soldiers of various wars who have taken Robin hostage and are demanding that they stop their mission.
